This inaugural event of the ASME Women’s Leadership Collective is a by-invitation workshop.
The Workshop will bring together key stakeholders—including women engineers, ASME leadership, and external partners in advancing equity in engineering—to discuss and shape the Collective’s long-term goals and objectives, including its mission, scope, and strategic direction.
Workshop participants will explore how the Collective can best serve ASME’s women members, complement existing programs, and fill current gaps in leadership development for women engineers. By gathering input from ASME’s diverse community, the ASME Foundation will ensure that the Collective is tailored to the needs of women engineers across different career stages and sectors.
To foster the development of women engineers across their professional journeys, ASME is creating a Women’s Leadership Collective. With an initial focus on mid-senior executives who will emerge as our sector’s leaders and mentors in the coming years, the Women’s Leadership Collective will serve as a platform for women to hone their leadership skills, access mentors and mentees, and expand their professional networks.

ASME stands at a pivotal moment in its history, with its Board now comprising 50% women. While this milestone is a significant achievement, it is not reflective of the broader membership or engineering field, particularly in mechanical engineering, where women remain underrepresented.
