ASME Workshop day @ Microsoft BAM Summer Mentorship Program

The Microsoft BAM Tri-State Chapter cordially invites you to participate in the application process for our BAM Summer Mentorship Program. Please join us in identifying high school students interested and qualified to complete the online application. To be eligible for this program, each student must be 15 years of age byJune 30, 2023, entering high school in the Fall of 2023, or have graduated high school in the Spring of 2023 and have an interest in STEAM.

The online application form can be found at https://aka.ms/bsmp/ts/application. Please note: The online submission form will close on May 1st, 2023, at 5pm PDT. Each student is required to answer questions regarding their interest in STEAM and why they should be considered for the program. They will also be asked to provide their name and contact information from a parent/guardian. Once we receive their application, we will then schedule a virtual interview with each student. Note, there will be one round of 30-minute interviews, so if selected for an interview you must be available between the below dates:

APPLICATION AND PARTICIPANT TIMELINE:

– Interview rounds will begin: May 8th – May 19th

– Program participants will be announced on: June 1st, 2023

The program will run for six weeks from July 11th through August 17th. The program is designed to act as an introduction to Microsoft technologies and to expose exceptional minority students to careers in Information Technology, while also encouraging teamwork, maintaining mental wellness and building professional soft skills. In this program, students will attend workshops, field trips, and informational sessions structured around technology in a hybrid environment. They will also be tasked with completing an individual coding projects, group diaries, and group projects presented at their final hackathon event on August 17th, 2023.
